In celebration of Tree Week aimed at expanding green spaces, Eskan Bank participates in Tree Week activities

Her Excellency Mrs. Amina bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and Chairperson of Eskan Bank, along with Mr. Abdulla Taleb, General Manager of Eskan Bank, participated in a tree planting event in Madinat Salman. This initiative supports the National Action Plan for achieving carbon neutrality, launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and coincides with the inauguration of Tree Week, initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

In this context, the Minister affirmed that this initiative is part of the national efforts to expand green spaces and enhance environmental awareness in the Kingdom, in alignment with Bahrain’s National Afforestation Plan, which aims to increase green areas in accordance with the Kingdom’s commitments under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

She also noted that Tree Week presents an opportunity to promote sustainable practices, spread a culture of innovation in environmental protection and conservation of natural resources, and serves as a motivation to strengthen social responsibility and embed the concept of environmental security through adopting eco-friendly behaviours. The Minister emphasized Eskan Bank’s commitment to supporting initiatives and programs that raise environmental awareness, in collaboration with various public and private entities, to help protect vegetation cover and the natural environment in the Kingdom.
