The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Housing Bank signed a platinum sponsorship agreement with Al Salam Bank for the second edition of the Innovation in Social Housing Conference and Exhibition, as part of enhancing the banking sector’s contribution to developing housing solutions and services for citizens.

Her Excellency Ms. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Housing Bank, stressed the importance of partnership with banking institutions in continuing to develop the housing finance system, noting that diversifying the solutions and options available to beneficiaries is one of the main pillars for enhancing the participation of the private sector in providing housing services.

She explained that the conference provides a platform that brings together governmental, financial and real estate institutions to discuss new models of cooperation, and to benefit from experiences and expertise in developing solutions that contribute to accelerating citizens’ access to suitable housing.

For his part, Mr. Rafik Al-Nayed, CEO of Al Salam Bank Group, affirmed that the bank’s participation in the conference stems from its keenness to support national initiatives that contribute to achieving a sustainable social and developmental impact, and to enhance its role in providing financial solutions that meet the diverse needs of citizens.

He pointed to the importance of expanding cooperation between the banking sector and government and real estate entities to develop more flexible and innovative financing solutions, which would contribute to supporting the development of the social housing sector and achieving its future goals.
